The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has extended its condolences to the All People’s Congress (APC) following the death of the party’s National Chairman, Hon. Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray.
In a condolence message addressed to the APC National Secretary General, the ruling party expressed profound sadness over the passing of the veteran politician and party leader.
The message, signed by SLPP National Secretary General, Paran Umar Tarawally, described the late Mansaray as a dedicated public servant whose contributions to national development, peace, and democracy would be remembered for years to come.
According to the SLPP, Mansaray’s service to Sierra Leone transcended partisan politics, noting that he played a significant role in the country’s democratic process and political development throughout his career.
The ruling party expressed solidarity with the APC, the bereaved family, friends, and supporters of the late National Chairman during this difficult period of mourning.
The SLPP further prayed for the repose of his soul and called on Sierra Leoneans to honour his legacy of public service, commitment to democracy, and dedication to national progress.
The death of Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray has attracted tributes from across the political divide, with leaders and citizens alike recognising his longstanding contributions to Sierra Leone’s governance and democratic journey.
In a similar development, Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, also paid a heartfelt tribute to the late APC National Chairman, Alhaji MinkailuMansaray, who passed away in Senegal.
In a message shared on social media, the First Lady expressed shock and sadness at his passing, noting that only two days earlier, family, friends, and supporters had been celebrating his birthday.
“Two days ago, we were celebrating your birthday, and today you have answered the call of your Maker. I am deeply saddened to learn of your passing, Sir,” she wrote.
Dr. Fatima Maada Bio described the late APC Chairman as a man of wisdom, humility, and immense contributions, saying that every interaction she had with him left a lasting impression.
She prayed for Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus and extended condolences to his family, loved ones, and all those mourning his loss.
The First Lady also described his death as a sad moment for Sierra Leone’s political landscape.
Meanwhile, APC Leader in Parliament, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, has confirmed that the late Chairman’s remains have been transferred to the mortuary in Senegal, while arrangements are underway to repatriate his body to Sierra Leone for a dignified burial.
