Speaking on behalf of the Ministry in his offices, the Minister said the management of the Super Holdings Company Limited has eventually accepted to provide the requisite social benefits within the next two months to the protesters.

According to some of the workers, they have been working for over a decade without being made staff; adding that the benefits of hiring permanent staff seemed very unapparent. They said a staff is likely to feel more able to do their job effectively, if they knew they have a measure of job security, long-term prospects, and the opportunity to build relationships with the senior management staff of the company.

Chanting protesters; including store-keepers, drivers, engineers, mechanics and employees across the various departments of the company demonstrated with placards and stethoscopes around their necks, protesting for issuance of their night allowances, hazard payments, daily wages, improved medical facilities, social benefits, increments on their monthly salaries and classification of staff grouping.
