We have five Assistant Inspector Generals in the Southern district. We have seven (7) AIGs in the North of Sierra Leone and six (6) AIGs in the West Area of Sierra Leone.

It is a fact that, a few months from now, the SLP IG Dr. Richard Moigbe would be up for retirement. This means that somebody else would need to be appointed as IG of SLP.

There are several names coming up for the position of IGP. We have a total of twenty seven (27) AIGs across Sierra Leone. The reality is that from this list, only one AIG will ascend to the IG seat.

Of course, the current SLP IG Dr. Richard Moigbe has professionally managed the SLP at a time when violence is on the rise. IG Dr. Moigbe has made his mark and Sierra Leoneans will never forget his pivotal role in shaping the SLP for generations to come.

If we are to mention a few AIGs that have the potential, charisma, experience and qualification to become the next Inspector General of Sierra Leone Police, the following names cannot be unsaid: FUK Daboh, Betty Turay, Mustapha Kamara, Amadu Mannah, Karrow Kamara, Kalia Sesay, Memunatu Conteh-Jalloh, Sigismond Koroma, Augustine Kailie, Ambrose Sovula, Thomas Lamboi, Frank Alpha, Fayia Sellu, Patrick Johnson, KS Kamara, Yomba Sahr Senessie and others.

May common sense prevail!
