Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.3 in Freetown has remanded fifteen years old Saidu Tarawalie and forty-six years old Sorie Turay on allegations of Assault and Conspiracy.

They were arraigned on five count charges ranging from Conspiracy Contrary to Law, House Breaking and Larceny, Malicious Damage, Wounding and Assault and Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

According to the particulars of offence, on a date between 28th to 30th May 2023 at one occupied unfinished building at Emmanuel Kamara drive, Baoma Goderich, in the western area in Freetown, they conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a felony to wit house breaking and Larceny.

On count two at the same place and date with intent to steal, the accused persons broke and entered into the occupied unfinished building at the said Emmanuel Kamara Drive and stole five sets toilet seat, one set kitchen zinc, five tap head, thirty leaves zinc and fifteen yards lace clothes, all to the total value of twenty-one thousand and twenty new Leones (21,020,00), purporting to be property of Aminata Bundu Conteh whilst in custody of Osman Kemoh Sesay.

It was alleged on count three that the accused persons at the same place and date maliciously damaged ten bundle PVC imported ceiling and one window, all to the total sum of sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty Leones (16,750,00), property of complainant Aminata Bundu Conteh whilst in custody of Osman Kemoh Sesay.

The police alleged on count four that the second accused person Sorie Turay at the same place and date, maliciously wounded and assaulted Joshua Conteh in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.

The charges were read and explained to the accused persons with no plea taken.

The accused persons who were unrepresented were refused bail and remanded at the male correctional center in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 19th June 2023 for further hearing.
