Delivering his keynote address, Idrissa Bartholomew, informed parents and guardians that the non-uniform day was a day set aside for school pupils who would dress in their professional costumes, signifying what they would want to become in the future at the same time generating income to support the poor and needy, especially those who had been hospitalized but could not afford their medical bills.

He said the Virtue International School was the only school that had continued to celebrate the day with support from parents who would buy pin-ups and proceeds used to undertake philanthropic gestures.

He further intimated that the initiative behind the non-uniform day was centred on pupils dressed in different costumes, like nurses, doctors, police, lawyers and engineers and extended gratitude to the parents and guardians who had supported them.

He assured them of the school’s readiness and willingness to provide quality education for her pupils.

Sadiatu Sesay, head girl of the school, also expressed thanks and appreciation to parents and guardians for their gesture and to the school administration for the celebration and for allowing them to put on their costumes as a fundraiser.
