Vice President Foh in his statement delivered on behalf of His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma stated that he is in the Kissi Kingdom to stand with the people of the Makona Region as they commemorate one of their most difficult periods in history. He praised the resilience of the Makona people in defeating the deadly Ebola Virus. He warned against complacency and urged the people to learn from the mistakes which led to the spread of the virus.

VP. Foh commended the Church for such an initiative in erecting a Memorial Stone Site, which he hoped will serve the purpose of a grave site for the families of those victims buried in unmarked graves.

Known as the Sahr Kissi Bendu of the Kissi Kingdom, Vice President Foh on behalf of the governing All People’s Congress reiterated Government’s commitment in developing Koindu Township and the Kissi Region. He declared that the poor road network in the Makona Region will soon be a thing of the past, as this is a major concern to the three Governments of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The Vice President of Liberia, Joseph Nyuma Boakai in his earlier statement, expressed his gratitude to the Presidents of the Makona Union for their resolves in holding the Region together. The Memorial Stone Site, he said, reminds the Makona Region of what they have together as a people. “What affects one, affects all”, he declared. VP. Boakai prayed that the lost Glory of Koindu Township will be restored.

The high point of the service was the unveiling of the Memorial Stone Site at the Koindu International Market by the two Vice Presidents and the Head of the Guinean Delegation.

In a separate engagement, VP. Foh on behalf of the Leader and Chairman of the All People’s Congress, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma donated a brand new 5KVA Diesel Generator to the Community Radio Station, Radio Kissi Bendu and two brand new Motor-bikes to two distinguished members of the APC Party in the Kissi Chiefdom; Veteran Vice Chairman Francis Fayia Jimmy and Moses James of Constituency 03. This, he said, is in appreciation of their dedicated service to the Party. VP. Foh encouraged other Party Members to be steadfast in their resolve to support the APC, a Party that rewards loyalty.
