It is expected that the Protocol Officer would have learnt from that ugly experience which many people have described as a “big protocol blunder” that caused the second gentleman of the state, sitting in as acting president at the time of the ugly incident.

Many believed that in order to save the vice president from such avoidable embarrassment in the future, his Protocol must ensure that he do his job, for which he is being paid through tax payers’ money and properly plan the daily moves of his boss before execution.

It is expected of a Protocol Officer to describe the formalities and courtesies that lubricate relationships between institutions and most notably used in an international relations context, organizations often observe protocols whenever any VIP conducts an official visit as Protocol Officers carry out their roles as event planners.

So, the question of whether the VP’s Protocol actually did his job by planning the vice president’s visit to the Basharia Mosque has left millions of people seeking answers.
