A letter dated 30th October 2019 stated that Benjamin Gordon will now serve as full time Secretary for the Association. Executive members of the Western Area Football Association appointed and approved Benjamin Gordon to serve them after he had been acting in the position for over three months taking over from his predecessor Kashor Joseph Holland-Cole. The letter further mentioned that: “Benjamin Gordon has been working as Acting Secretary General of WAFA for six months with “quality and outstanding leadership”. Speaking to AYV, Gordon said his appointment was not a surprise because since he took up office he has been playing his part to ensure that the game is played according to the rules and for it to become popular in the country. He emphasized to officials of division two club as today is the deadline for registration and verification of clubs, adding that any defaulter will have themselves to blame. In another development, the executive members of WAFA have approved a third-tier division league (Division 3). Teams relegated from division two league will form part of the Division three League.
