“We should demand peace and dialogue. That is the only weapon that we should use to determine the successor of His Excellency President Ernest Bai Koroma. The APC is stronger together. It’s a party of peaceful people”, Ambassador Fadika told supporters.

“We don’t need to mobilise supporters to attack opponents, because all of us are the same members of the APC party. When APC wins, we all win and so there is no point in attacking opponents”

The successful businessman and philanthropist, recently appointed Commonwealth Goodwill Ambassador, is expected to run for the APC leadership and President of Sierra Leone. Ambassador Fadika is so far seen as favourite among APC figures and delegates – although he has yet to say publicly whether he will stand for the APC leadership as call for nominations have not yet been formally announced.

But a lot of people including key APC members in Sierra Leone and in the diaspora have been trying to persuade the Ambassador to run for the party leadership, as he’s seen as the only person that can keep the APC in power after President Koroma.

Ambassador Fadika is credited for being a champion and good friend of the poor, someone who is helping many poor people work their way out of poverty. His core message is “we are born poor, but we must not die poor”, as he continues in his tireless efforts to advocate for jobs and the eradication of extreme poverty in Sierra Leone.

Many see the combination of his growing popularity within and outside the APC as making him the smartest and safest person for the APC leadership.

Members of the public will also be watching closely to see whether an unpopular APC candidate is elected at the upcoming APC convention amid reports that some unpopular would-be candidates are now engaged in the politics of personal attacks and are seeking to mislead some unsuspecting APC delegates and supporters with fake promises and ‘vote-buying’ projects.

“They were never there for the poor people, but suddenly they have emerged and are pretending to be with the poor just because they want power”, a youth leader in the community observed.

“My fundamental role is to encourage dialogue among all those seeking to run for APC leadership. Beyond the APC politics, we also need to listen to the public about who will win the elections for the APC.

We all need to come together to find the best person that will lead the party and build on the legacy of President Koroma to make the APC more stronger and create the change we want in Sierra Leone. I trust that our APC delegates will elect the right person when the time comes”, Amb. Fadika said.

“Let me assure everyone, my APC comrades, that as a God-fearing person and a strong member of the APC, I will continue to preach peace, love, unity and respect for our people in the APC and for everyone in this country. I encourage everyone  seeking to run for the APC leadership to engage in a campaign of maturity and intra-party morals and strength”, said Amb. Fadika
