The Chairman revealed that the organization has been in existence for over 40 years, supporting the country in various developmental strides. He reiterated the need for patriotism which he says should be the driving force of development in the country.

Sheriff further stated that the Federation has been very supportive of the government’s effort of developing the country. He pointed out that the essence of ditching out these scholarships is to help in the transformation drive of the country’s educational sector.

Sheriff recounted that they saw the necessity of helping to improve the educational sector because of its unequivocal relevance. He revealed his organization will continue to support the people of Sierra Leone especially, the less-privileged and destitute who are being neglected and discriminated against.    

The scholarship project targets over 24 secondary schools and tertiary institutions nationwide. The Chairman acknowledged that beneficiaries are those who merit the scholarship devoid of political, regional or tribal affiliations. The scholarship includes text and exercise book and a full year tuition fee for the 50 beneficiaries.

Sheriff stated that during the height of the eradicated dreaded Ebola virus in the country, his organization was the first to come to the aid of Sierra Leoneans and the government to help in salvaging the plights of the country. He recounted that the Tegloma Federation Inc. has been there for the promotion of Sierra Leone in all sphere of the society, while pledges his continual support to the people and government of Sierra Leone. He uses the forum to urge pupils and students to be steadfast in their studies for a better future. He said amid the challenges confronting them, they should make their studies a priority because no matter what, the future of Sierra Leone lies in their hands.

Meanwhile, many Sierra Leoneans have lauded the effort of the Tegloma Federation Inc. for what they describe as timely intervention into the educational sector with these scholarships especially, at a difficult period like this.
