On International Women’s Day, 8th March, 2026, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to the rights, dignity, and empowerment of women and girls.
Reflecting on progress made through landmark reforms like the Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Act and the Free Quality Education Programme, the president called for stronger action to end discrimination, protect women’s rights, and build a more just society for all.
