The Minister of Youth Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Sannoh, delivered a compelling and forward-looking statement at the Passing-Out Ceremony of Batch Eight of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), held over the weekend at the Peace Mission Training Centre.
Addressing a hall filled with proud young graduates, security officials, and invited guests, Minister Sannoh commended the Corps members for their discipline, resilience, and unwavering commitment to national service. He described the NYSC as a “living bridge between education and nation-building,” urging the graduates to carry forward the values of integrity, innovation, and patriotism as they transition into the next phase of their journeys.
In his remarks, the Minister emphasised that service to country does not end with the completion of the programme. “Today is not an exit,” he stated, “but an elevation. You are stepping into society not just as graduates, but as ambassadors of hope and architects of Sierra Leone’s future.”
He encouraged the young professionals to embrace entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and community leadership, assuring them of the Ministry’s continued commitment to youth empowerment initiatives that create opportunities across sectors.
The ceremony was marked by a vibrant display of unity and celebration, as Batch Eight Corps members officially concluded their service year with renewed purpose and confidence.
