The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, has been invited as a speaker at the prestigious Young Political Leadership School Africa Conference (Cohort 13), scheduled to take place in Liberia from June 8 to 13, 2026.
The conference will bring together youth leaders, policymakers, governance experts, and development stakeholders from across the continent to discuss issues relating to youth leadership, democratic governance, civic participation, regional cooperation, and sustainable development.
Minister Sannoh is expected to participate in high-level panel discussions and share Sierra Leone’s experiences and initiatives aimed at promoting youth empowerment, leadership development, and active citizenship.
The event will also provide an opportunity for greater collaboration among countries within the Mano River Union (MRU), with Minister Sannoh expected to engage alongside regional counterparts, including Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah and other distinguished participants.
According to organizers, the conference seeks to strengthen youth participation in governance and policymaking while fostering partnerships that support peace, inclusion, and development across Africa.
The invitation is being viewed as recognition of Sierra Leone’s growing role in youth-centered governance and the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Youth Affairs to advance youth development, leadership, and civic engagement.
The conference is expected to culminate in discussions on practical strategies for empowering young people and enhancing their contribution to democratic processes and national development throughout the continent.
