The Ministry of Youth Affairs has engaged a high-level alumni delegation from YPLS Africa in a strategic meeting aimed at strengthening youth leadership, governance, and regional collaboration.
The delegation met with the Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, where discussions focused on the vision, achievements, and continental impact of YPLS Africa—an initiative dedicated to developing the next generation of African leaders through capacity building, civic engagement, and professional development.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, members highlighted what they described as a generational shift in leadership, emphasizing the readiness of young people to take on greater responsibility in governance and national development.
Minister Sannoh commended YPLS Africa for its role in nurturing visionary and service-oriented leaders, noting that its mission aligns with government’s youth development agenda centered on empowerment, inclusion, and active participation.
He further reaffirmed his commitment to supporting youth-driven platforms and pledged to attend the organisation’s upcoming 13th Cohort and 10th Anniversary Celebration in Liberia, signaling Sierra Leone’s continued support for regional youth collaboration.
Both parties concluded the engagement by reaffirming a shared commitment to building a generation of empowered and responsible young leaders capable of shaping the future of the continent.
