The issue of encroachment and land grabbing over the years has been of serious concerns in the Western Area Rural District and the Rural Education Committee (REC) Primary School is not an exception.

Madam Darboh added that President Bio’s free and quality education flagship program will only succeed with good infrastructures, learning material and requite trained and qualify teachers.

The Rural Education Committee (REC) Primary School since established in 1945 has been the only government school in the district is now due to have Secondary School.

She stated that the school is blessed with an enormous lands and that people are encroaching in the land because of less building structures.

The school according to Madam Darboh currently has more than 1,000 pupils ranging from Nursery, Infant and Primary, citing that they are been crying for more infrastructures as they currently have three building infrastructure aside from the one attached one which is dilapidated.
