But after attempts by the family through traditional treatment, she realized that the jaw was getting swollen daily. She further disclosed that she then took Mohamed to the Kenema Government Hospital for treatment. Whilst at the hospital, she said the present Minister of Health, Dr. Alpha Wurie, was visiting the hospital and came across the young boy. He had so much compassion for him and decided to give him some support. He then told the doctor at the hospital to take care of his condition.

Dr. Bayoh (the doctor), then admitted them and administered treatment to the boy.

She further explained that they were hospitalized for one month, during which time Dr. Bayoh administered 7 bottles of drip and 1 bottle of blood to no avail.

They were then discharged as it was clear that there was no change in his condition. Whilst at home she said she used all the money at her disposal to care for her child and is now appealing to any humanitarian body or person to come to their aid as his condition is deteriorating.

She further disclosed that the father of the boy, Ansumana Kamara, had absconded from home and has been away for the past 5 years and she does not know his whereabouts. She says she is the bread winner of the family and at present has run dry financially.

Isata said her son manages to eat food but this has proven to be very difficult as he continues to complain of pain. She however praised the Minister of Health for his kindness, but stated that the doctor has not been committed as the medication given the boy was the basics administered for pain.

This medium joins the mother and all other sympathetic persons to call for help to restore the young boy’s face and alleviate his suffering.

The mother of Mohamed Kamara, Isata Musa can be reached on this number at Mano Junction – +232 30-72-59-60.
