Sky Vision College of Digital Technology and Management has matriculated One Hundred and Forty students on Digital Technology, Management and other marketable courses, during its maiden matriculation ceremony since its establishment.
Guest Speaker of the event, Andrew Massaquoi, representing the National Council for Technical Vocational and other Academics (NCTVA) Awards encouraged the student to make use of the opportunity, stating: “You are here to make something of yourself and add value to your life to become Engineers, Information and Communications experts and professionals with respect that comes with good work and rewards.
“We need people who are ready to move this country to the next level of development, people who can carry the flag of this country high, we need a collective vision that describes the kind of future that we want to create for this country. We need the people who are bold and confident and are ready to lead this country and the sub region to the future.”
He assured the students that Sky Vision College will give them the tools to reason, make sound judgments, ask tough questions and become critical thinkers, entrepreneurs or ICT gurus they inspire to become.
Chief Marketing Officer for Sky Vision College, Reshma Gadam congratulated the students, whiles calling on them to feel prestigious and privileged to be part of the college. She said they are the first batch of students that will shape the future of the Sky Vision College and the country, disclosing that the College symbolises the maturing of Sierra Leones technical ability.
She said the College offers courses on Digital Technology and Management, which according to her, are essential skills for the 21st century.
She said the College aims to provide quality education for all men, women and children in Africa and also to produce graduates that are creative and competent.
Reshma Gadam went on that they decided to start the College because they want to help Sierra Leoneans develop their IT skills as digitalisation is now the order of the day.
She said it is now a must that in every profession or duty, one must be computer literate so that one will be able to cope with the rest of the world.
“We believe that we must join other colleges in promoting IT and make sure that we give the best teachings to all. For us, we make sure that nobody leaves our college with his or her certificate without having done his or her training.” Reshma assured.
She said they have been accredited by the NCTVA and Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and they have made sure that all requirements have been met before they start operation.
