The court record indicated that the convict Kandeh Yukella Sesay being a private security guard at the complainant Donstana Thompson’s residence at Main Motor Road in Freetown stole therein a large quantity of household properties, like three old assorted bedspreads, one black diary containing certain information about the complainant, including one old Techno mobile phone, charging cord, ten old assorted pencils and pamphlets.

He also stole nineteen packets of Saba soap, quantity of brown envelopes, one old Toshiba memory stick and valuable household properties, all to the total value of forty one million, nine hundred and eight Leones.

The convict was arrested on 22 May 2019 by Inspector S. Sandi and when the charge was read to the convict, he pleaded guilty.

Before Magistrate Mark Ngebga convicted and sentenced the convict to eighteen months’ jail term, the Exhibit Clerk at the Congo Cross Police Station, Detective Nassif Jaward Sawaneh testified that he is charged with the responsibility of receiving  and registering exhibits that are brought to the Congo Cross Police Station, which are under investigation.

He said he recalled 21st May 2019, and that he was on duty at the Congo Cross Police Station, when some of the items stolen at the residence of the complainant, Donstana Thompson by the convict, Kandeh Yumkella Sesay were handed over to him as exhibits for safe custody.

Detective Nassif Jaward Sawaneh later produced and tendered the said exhibits as part of the court’s record, which he said had since been in the custody of the police.

The twenty nine years old convict, Kandeh Yumkella Sesay who had been previously convicted for similar criminal offences has started serving his jail term at the Male Correctional Centre at Pademba Road in Freetown.
