She further explained that after the burial of Mr. Mustapha Koroma, his eldest son Alie Kelvin Koroma inherited several properties including their family farm land which was located about 4 kilometer from the Poro Secret Society Bush.

It could be recalled that Mr. Mustapha Koroma is a senior member of the Poro society while his son Alie Kelvin Koroma is a fervent Muslim and a non-believer of secret societies. He refused to join the society base on his belief and Islamic principles.

It was against this backdrop, that lead to the closure of their family farm, which was their only source of income after the death of their father, by the Argba Kekeree Foday Yabasu, who revealed that the farm land belongs to the secret society, and whosoever is allowed to farm in that land must be a member of the Poro society.

Argba Yabasu ordered his men to stop all ongoing farming activities in the land, and ordered that Alie Kelvin Koroma must not be allowed to farm in the land until he joins the society.

 On the 24th July 2016 Alie Kelvin Koroma and his workers arrived at the farm in order to start farming activities, but they were stopped by members of the secret society demanding that Alie and his workers should leave the land, “We have been instructed to stop you and your men from working on this land or face stiff resistance from us” they cautioned, but, it was during this process that lead to riot and serious fighting occurred which lead to the death of one of the Poro Society member and Alie was accused of killing that young man and was chased by other members of the society but he managed to escape.

The following day, members of the secret society attacked the residence of Alie and burnt down his father house and threated to kill him whenever they come in contact with him. 

Family and relatives of Alie, are worried as to the way about of their son, they have reported the matter to the Waterloo Police Division who have conducted several; search and mount investigations but to date he had not been found.

Rumors making the rounds indicate that Ali was captured by members of the secret society and has been killed, but according to reliable source within the secret society Foday Yabasu has secretly instructed all his members to go in search of Ali and who so ever found him will be rewarded handsomely and be promoted.

The matter has caught the attention of human right activist who are presently monitoring the situation, as the continued intimidation of Ali’s family has become worrisome.
