Alhaji Owolabi Tejan emphasized that a mosque is essentially a first step towards fostering unity and brotherhood amongst people and consequently, a powerful force in our endeavors to unite mankind. He reiterated that a mosque provides an effective tool for inviting people to Allah and is conducive to the propagation and progress of Islam.

In his remarks, Chairman of the building committee, Alhaji Dr. Akim Gibril emphasized that in as much as they will try as best as possible to maintain the old structure of the building but they will create additional facilities that will ensure that the mosque has a facelift. He reiterated that after the extension Foulah Town Mosque will be the largest mosque in the country with several facilities like a conference room for the imam, a mortuary and a school.

Addressing the huge crowd, a member of the building committee, Mr. Sanusi Bruski called on the people of the community to take care of the mosque as the mosque is a house of Allah and does not belong to particular person. He prayed that they will take care of whatever materials that is meant for the project and urge them to contribute whatever that will make the project a success.

In his remarks, the Deputy Chief Imam, Alhaji Dr. Aroun Dahniya expressed his delight to be part of the program and prayed for all who in diverse ways have contributed for the extension of the mosque. He emphasized that the mosque belongs to Allah and no individual owns the mosque and should serve as a learning institution and prayers.

The program which attracted several dignitaries, Imams and worshippers was climaxed with the reading of the holy Quran.
