Former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma returned to his hometown Makeni and had a powerful message for young people.
Speaking at a grand homecoming dinner at Wusum Hotel, Dr. Koroma said Sierra Leone must look beyond politics and embrace private enterprise, entrepreneur and investment to create jobs and wealth.
“Public service and politics should not be regarded as the only avenues to success,” he told guests.
The former President also called for peace and national cohesion, urging Sierra Leoneans to focus on issues, not individuals.
He said his over 2.5 years in Abuja gave him new perspectives, and he now plans to launch a Foundation to continue serving Sierra Leone in peacebuilding and development.
