The organization according to the CEO is not only in Sierra Leone but also in the United States of America and was founded 10 years ago. She added that because her sponsors from Amsterdam advised her to do something to her help her country, she and few doctors she works with in the United States decided to set up a sponsorship program to support and empower girls in Sierra Leone.

“We chose girls during the time we started” she said; adding that the ratio between boys and girls in education to boys was higher than girls but that the percentage is now getting lower as most girls are now in schools.

According to Fatu, Angels to Angels Sierra Leone International is proud about six girls are currently in university from sponsored by her organization pursuing their Masters degree courses at both the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) and Fourah Bay College. She added that they did not pay the full tuition and that her organization subsidized for their fees, adding that these girls are encouragement to others to further their education in tertiary institutions in order to be useful persons to society.

She added that besides education, they have helped over 900 girls across the country and have been supporting some girls for medical surgeries and have also donated some relief materials to the mudslide victims.

Saidu Sankoh National Coordinator Angels to Angels Sierra Leone International noted that the organization has contributed to young girls in Sierra Leone because of the gap that has been between boys and girls in the country.

“We provide their school fees, learning materials among other things,” he said.

The intervention of Angels to Angels towards girls according to Sankoh is of great importance to their lives who wish to be at the forefront in the different sectors of the country to contribute to national development.
