The Community Savings and Loans Associations plays a critical role in bringing financial services to rural areas of developing countries, where access to formal financial services is typically very limited. Making his statement during the Bi-Annual Savings Share – Out and Graduation ceremony at the Reffo Hall, Rogbamgba Junction in the outskirts of Freetown, the Executive Director Livelihood Development for Human Rights Promotion Sierra Leone (LIDFOHRP-SL) Abdulai Bangura, confirmed that this maiden collection saw parents accumulate thirty one million, one hundred and thirty thousand Leones in eight months for the education of their children.

He added that the parents saved a minimum of Le 10,000 per week for their children on a weekly basis specifically for the education of their children which is to be shared to parents during the second week of August each year so that parents will have the last two weeks remaining in August to buy school items and get their kids ready for school in either the first or second week of September for the reopening of schools.

Making her statement on behalf of her colleague beneficiaries Fatmata Kamara commended parents for making them beam when going to school this year and promised a pay back.  Child Investment for Education Initiative Program helps parents and children to imbibe the culture of savings. The money collected by these communities was distributed to beneficiaries along with school materials.

Livelihood Development for Human Rights Promotion Sierra Leone (LIDFOHRP-SL) is a non- profit community based organization that was established in 2015 to encourage communities on livelihood sustenance initiatives, human rights promotion intervention, gender equality and capacity building.
