Before passing judgment on convict, Hon. Justice Alusine Sesay stated that he is of the firm conviction that, the Masjid Jaamat Mosque congregation must have read Alfatia for the convict Taylor Kamara.

He went further to state that such an act should not be encouraged in society, adding that if such an act is committed in any Arab country, the perpetrator is stoned to death and cautioned the convict to refrain from engaging in such criminal act in future.

Hon. Justice Alusine Sesay ordered that the items stolen at the Masjid Jaamat Mosque be returned to the mosque.

The State was represented by Augustine Sheku and S. Lansana, while the convict Taylor Kamara was defended by barrister O.C. Spencer-Coker and M. Bayoh from the Legal Aid Board.

In a separate development, Hon Justice Alusine Sesay also sentenced one Mohamed Sesay to ten years imprisonment  for the offence of Arson, contrary to law.

The convict is said to have set fire on a house, while a suckling mother was inside with her baby boy. The convict was arrested on 22 February 2018 in the Freetown Judicial District of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

The presiding judge cautioned the convict, Mohamed Sesay to desist from such act in future, and that the penalty for such an offence is life imprisonment.

The convict was defended by O.C. Spencer Coker and M. Bayoh from the Legal Aid Board. The State was represented by lawyer Augustine Sheku  from the Law Officers, Department at Lamina Sankoh Street in Freetown.
