The Keynote Address was delivered by Deputy Minister MSWGCA Mr. Kella who spoke on the ills of TIP, saying that the government is now taking the lead in ensuring that it curtails such diabolic acts which have the potential of draining the country’s human resource while at the same time causing untold suffering for the victims. He called on all stakeholders to join the ministry in combating TIP so that in the near future it could become a thing of the past.

Several other speakers included a representative from the MCCU at the VP’s Office, WJ Freeman and Mariam Fullah – Case Management Coordinator at World Hope.

TIP Secretariat and Lead organizer in the MSWGCA, Marian Harding-Tommy served as coordinator with other TIP Secretariat staff performing other important roles.

Issues discussed at the three days training included: What is Human Trafficking; Scale of Trafficking in Persons; Combating Human Trafficking, Protection and Assistance to Victims, Identifying and Screening VoTs (Victims of Trafficking); The National Referral Mechanism for Victims of Trafficking among several other important topics that were deliberated and recommendations made for better coordination and work on reducing human trafficking and taking care of victims.
