At the Genesis of the debate the candidates showed an atmosphere of unity and love among them and preached unity among the students. But the situation changed when the aspirants began to attack each other through the debate and exposed weak points to score political goals. 

The atmosphere among supporters became chaotic and unfriendly when supporters were given the opportunity to ask the aspirants questions. Some supporters used the opportunity to attack aspirants’ personalities and intellectuality which accelerated violence among students at the climax of the debate.

The situation got beyond control and the organizers had to conclude the debate without delivering a vote of thanks. Police showed their professionalism as they quickly reached the use their crowd control and dispersal tactics. According to most students at the college campus that fateful day, the student union election will pose more violence and they therefore called on the administration to handle the situation before it goes out of control.

Even though the situation was unfriendly and chaotic, the aspirants sent advises to their supporters to desist from any form of violence that will undermine the peace of the election come Friday 28th June 2019. They promised to denounce any person involve in any violent act as they all expectantly wait for polling day.
