She disclosed that the suspected persons have been granted unconditional bail but that they should tender all relevant traveling documents and provide a surety each to the Commission.

She added that they will be going back to the drawing board to re-strategize on how they will be handling other corruption cases despite President Bio’s public apology on behalf of the Commission.

“We will inform the public if we are to pursue the matter. But for now the suspects have been released on bail as long as they meet their bail conditions. Then we will meet with the prosecutor for legal opinion,” she noted.

She however called on citizens to applaud the ACC Commissioner for his relentless effort to tackle corruption anywhere it rears its ugly head, adding that incidents like this does not warrant the Commissioner to hand in his resignation.

Despite the commission is trying to fight the good fight they now know the scope of acceptability from the people in the fight against corruption.

She added that they will continue to pursue their mandate within the confines of the law and of the ACC Act of 2008, noting that they welcome the acceptability of people in the ACC’s fight against corruption.

“We will continue with our court-led approach; with our settlement agreements; prevention, public education; enforcement, and non-conviction based on asset recovery which is at the heart of our new strategy this 2019 and into 2023” she said.

In another development, members of the general public have welcomed one of the teachers released on bail. They rejoiced and chanted songs about impunity having no place in Sierra Leone.
