The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Youth Affairs (MYA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have launched the ‘Empowering Youth Bike Riders as Sustainable Agents of Peace in Sierra Leone’.

The project funded by the United Nations Peace Building Fund aims at empowering young female and male youth Bike Riders as sustainable agents of peace.

The 2-year project is jointly implemented by the UNDP Sierra Leone and the UNCDF in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs.

The project will cover bike riders in locations of Western Area Rural, Bo, Kenema & Makeni. The project was launched during the inaugural Board meeting held today.

Speaking at the launch, the Resident Representative of UNDP in Sierra Leone, Pa Lamin Beyai expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Youth Affairs for the lasting partnership to advance youth development in Sierra Leone, and stated that the “Empowering Youth Bike Riders as Sustainable Agents of Peace in Sierra Leone is a $1.99m United Nations Peace Building Fund project, that aims to empower female and male bike riders as sustainable agents of peace in Sierra Leone.
