The victim, who passed away at the Princess Christian Maternal Hospital after failing to respond to treatment from nurses at the rainbow centre in the hospital, was said to have told the nurses that her father had deflowered her ruthlessly.
The mother of the victim (name withheld) told AYV that before her daughter passed away, she explained what had transpired between her and the father in the presence of some nurses and some relatives. Confirming the arrest and detention of suspect officer-in-charge of crime, said they had received that post-mortem examination result from the consultant government pathologist and forensic expert, Dr. Simeon Owiss Koroma.
He informed this medium that although the police had the result he was not the appropriate and competent character to comment on it, referring to Dr. Koroma as the only competent person to do so. He added that the matter was still under investigation and would not like to make any comment that might prejudice the process.
He said once complete they would send the file to the Director of Public Prosecution for his advice as to whether or not such a matter should be charged to court.
