Rokel Commercial Bank has refuted a social media video on incomplete bank note.

The bank in a press statement said: “Our attention has been drawn to a video making the rounds on social media where two or more people appear to display bundles of unwrapped bank notes, claiming same to be incomplete withdrawals from the Bank.

“Whilst the Bank takes such accusations very seriously, we have carefully analyzed the said video and it is considered view that, the contents were not only fictitious but were a brazen attempt to discredit the work of our dedicated and highly trained professional cashiers. We also believe that the said video was recorded as part of a grand scheme to bring down the hard earned reputation of the Bank’s Management by individuals or groups with ulterior  motives.

“If the individuals in the video were truly genuine the first place to report the said anomaly could have been the bank and not social media. It equally staggers our imagination to learn that the  individuals appear bereft of a general policy which  always require customers to count their money before leaving the bank premises.

“The public may also recall that the said video was the second, after another video that claimed the withdrawals were from ECOBANK eventhough they were in RCBank branded wrappers. Apparently, as if the ‘instructions’ given in the first instance weren’t clear, they decided to correct their first ‘mistake’ by recording another video in their determined campaign to drag the good image of the Rokel Commercial Bank into the mud.

“The Bank will be engaging the Sierra Leone Police to identify and pursue legal action against these individuals. We therefore encourage the public, especially our valued customers to disregard the said video as false, mischievous, corrosive and a faceless attempt to impunge the credibility of the Rokel Commercial Bank. We remain committed to our core values of integrity and building lasting and satisfying relationships with our customers”.
