The National Coordinator of the Seed Multiplication Project (SMP), Alhassan Kargbo said the Conteh Family have been waiting for such opportunity for a very long time, and noted that they have shown that they are in support of government development in the agriculture sector.

Anthony Conteh of the Conteh Family, called on the Ministry to support them with job opportunities so that they continue to boost their livelihood.

Lawyer Alex M. Musa, who represented the Conteh Family said the family was receiving ablease rent of about Le500, 000 (five hundred thousand Leones), which they considered as too small and so therefore decided to relinquish the land on a free hold sale to government.

He further said they have already prepared a sales agreement that was signed together with a draft conveyance.

The Minister of Agriculture, Professor Patrick Monty Jones assured that the Conteh Family will be considered in available job opportunities. He instructed the SMP Coordinator to ensure that the Conteh Family Members are catered for whenever there is a job opportunity of which they meet the qualification. “You are part of government and please feel free to be part of the iners of the land. We should continue to see each other as a family,” the Minister said.

Paramount Chief Bai Sebora Kasanga II of Bombali Señora Chiefdom, thanked the Conteh Family for the great decision, which will go a long way in the country’s development.
