In a heartfelt social media post, President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone announced the passing of his beloved elder sister, Madam Agnes Deen-Jalloh, on February 18th, 2024.

President Bio expressed his grief, stating: “It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of my beloved elder sister, Madam Agnes Deen-Jalloh, who passed on to eternal rest on February 18th, 2024, at the age of 74.”

Madam Agnes, affectionately known as Sissy or Ngor to her brother, was not only a sister but also a source of strength and love.

President Bio described her as a pillar of support, saying: “She was a blessing to me and everyone who interacted with her. Sissy’s heart was filled with love and a confidant with whom I could share my sentiments.”

Reflecting on their relationship, President Bio reminisced about Madam Agnes’s maternal role in his life, saying: “She was like a mother to me and my greatest cheerleader. She guided me through my transformative years and helped nurture me into the man I am today.”

Describing Madam Agnes as a woman of remarkable character, President Bio highlighted her selflessness and devotion to serving humanity, stating: “Sissy was a beautiful, selfless, and God-fearing woman who loved me unconditionally and served humanity diligently. Her wisdom and kindness will be deeply missed.”

In his final tribute, President Bio bid farewell to his sister, saying: “Rest in eternal peace, my darling Sissy, until we meet to part no more. Your light and legacy will live through the many lives you touched with your love, warmth, and generosity. My thoughts and prayers are with our family during this difficult time.”
