Madam Karimu stated that Sillah slapped and kicked the woman because she was appealing to the youths to stop fighting, as she established that the victim woman is currently in a critical condition at the government hospital, she mentioned that police in the district are yet to take the necessary action since they made the report to them.
Madam Karimu explained that they as women in the district foresaw a situation where in politicians will intimidate them, and there will be no authority to defend.
Therefore, she said in order for them to be on the safer side, they
have decided not to participate in the entire electioneering
process, starting with the ongoing registration.
Reacting to the accusation the APC Bo District Chairman said he is not the kind of man who molests a woman.
He said if he was that kind of a character, he would have revenged when his house was overcooked by people he knows.
Sillah established that nobody was touched on that fateful demolition day, not to talk of fighting among youths or a woman being beaten, as he pointed out that he was only trying to admonish the authorities not to carry out the demolition exercise at night, but because the area was noisy and dark he left quietly, the chairman confirmed.
