Africell Sierra Leone has officially launched the first ever late night entertainment show featuring the Godfather of Sierra Leone music, Jimmy B. The event took place at the Paradise Beach Lounge, Lumley Beach, Freetown, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s entertainment industry.

Jimmy B, a pioneer who transformed Sierra Leone’s music scene in the late 90s post-civil war by establishing Paradise Records, aims to showcase the country’s rich culture and talent through this new venture. Paradise Records played a crucial role in talent discovery and the growth of the music industry during its formative years.

“The essence of this late night show is to highlight Sierra Leone’s culture and provide a platform for talent exposure, whether raw, tapped, untapped, or established,” Jimmy B explained.

He commended Africell for their unwavering support of the entertainment industry in Sierra Leone, expressing his enthusiasm for collaborating with the telecommunications giant known for its strong commitment to corporate social responsibility.

“This initiative continues a project I started some time ago. This platform will help propel our entertainment industry both nationally and internationally, enabling artists to achieve recognition and success through their craft,” he added.

Jimmy B revealed that he has been diligently working on this project, which explains his recent quiet period in the industry. His primary goal remains to see the Sierra Leone entertainment industry thrive and gain international acclaim.

The show is scheduled to air every Monday at 10:00 p.m. on AYV TV, Africell’s Facebook page, Afriradio, and other major radio stations across the country. It aims to cater to all facets of the entertainment industry, attracting both local and international audiences.

This landmark show represents a significant step forward for Sierra Leone’s entertainment sector, promising to bring widespread attention to the country’s vibrant cultural scene.
