The Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) will host its eagerly anticipated Hackathon Demo Day tomorrow, July 20, 2024, at 4 pm on the 4th floor of the Ekundayo Thompson Building, IPAM Tower Hill Campus. This event is organized by the IPAM Centre of Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEEI) in collaboration with the Faculty of Information Systems and Technology.
The Hackathon is sponsored by the World Bank financed Sierra Leone Economic Diversification Project with technical assistance provided by CTI Consulting.
This has been a two-week intensive program aimed at developing ICT-led solutions. Five teams of dedicated students from the Faculty of Information Systems have participated, undergoing rigorous training on both the technical and business aspects of solution development.
Throughout the Hackathon, students not only honed their technical skills but also received invaluable training on the commercialization of their innovations. This comprehensive approach ensures that their solutions are not only technically sound but also viable in the marketplace.
The culmination of their hard work will be showcased on Demo Day, where the teams will present their projects to a distinguished panel of judges and guests. This event provides a platform for students to demonstrate their innovative solutions to some of today’s pressing problems, highlighting their potential impact on various sectors.
The IPAM Hackathon Demo Day is expected to draw the attention of industry professionals, academics, and potential investors, all eager to witness the next wave of technological innovation emerging from Sierra Leone’s future IT leaders.
The organizers, IPAM CEEI, and the Faculty of Information Systems and Technology, extend an open invitation to all interested parties to attend and support these young innovators. This event shows IPAM’s dedication to developing entrepreneurship and innovation within the university and the broader community.
