The visiting President will be accompanied to State House in Freetown where he will be meeting with his Sierra Leonean counterpart, His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma. President Addo is also scheduled to meet with the Ghanaian Community in Sierra Leone at the prestigious Bintumani Hotel before his departure.

A press release from the Ghana Flagstaff House, states, President Akufo-Addo’s visit to Sierra Leone and other African countries will give him an opportunity to introduce himself as the new Ghanaian President to governments and peoples of those countries.

His visit, the release maintained, will also avail him with the chance to explore and deepen bilateral relationship with those countries and accord Ghana’s full commitments to the ECOWAS project.

Accompanying the Hon. Vice President to receive the Ghanaian President, were the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Information and Communication, Mines and Mineral Resources, the Deputy Minister of Political and Public Affairs, Deputy Minister of Transport, the Secretary General of the APC Party, the Minister of State North and a host of Paramount Chiefs from the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.

President Nana Akufo-Addo was sworn into office on the 7th of January, 2016 as Ghana’s Head of State and Government after defeating incumbent, John Dramani Mahama by a margin of 9.45% in the 2016 Presidential election.
