According to the particulars of the offence allegedly committed by the accused, disclosed that he was arrested and charged to court for allegedly killing Mamadu Manjuru, on the 29 October 2016, at the peace Market around Ferry Junction, in the Freetown judicial district in the Republic of Sierra Leone.

In his testimony the prosecution’s formal and final witness, detective police constable 8576 Issa Kamara intimated the court that on 14 November 2016, he received enquiry file from Ross Road Police Station for a case of murder, contrary to law.

He informed his audience that the enquiry file contained nine statements, including the death certificate of the deceased, and it was later allocated to him for further investigation, and also registered the enquiry file in respect of the matter before the court.

The witness continued that on 15 November 2016, police sergeant Kabba M D including him re-interviewed the accused person by observing the judges rule, and the accused validated his statement by affixing his right hand thump print, and the signing process was witness by police sergeant, Kabba M D, and he signed as a recorder.

He further testified that on 26 November 2016, him together with the police sergeant Kabba M D finally charged the accused person with offence of murder and the charged statement had since been in the custody of the police and later produced and tendered the said charged statement in evidence, as part of the court record.

In his committal statement, Magistrate Dr. Abubakar Binneh Kamara stated that the evidence adduced by court held the accused, Alpha Umaru Jalloh culpable for the offence of murder, and that he was committing the matter to the high court of Sierra Leone for trial.
