The 26th November 2023, attempted coup was a great challenge and treat from both Civilians and military personnel, Captain Mohamed Amzar Conteh who stays at Kiosk Lower Allen town was tasked by his superior authorities as Platoon Commander charged with the responsibility to handle a special operation team. The aim was to bring sanity and further protect the legitimate Government, including the lives and property of the Republic of Sierra Leone. On the verge of doing his legal duties his platoon was meet with heavy resistance at the main country correctional center were one of his personnel were killed and he and others sustain serious wounds and were hospitalize at the 34 Military hospital for a month. Upon his discharge from the hospital, he continued treatment at his residence till he finally recovered from the sickbed, when resume duty, he was appointed by his chain of command to be in charge of arresting the Soldiers alleged to have taken part in the 26 November 2023, coup attempt. Few months after the coup attempt, whiles he was on operation, his private residence was attacked by an unknown armed men with cutlasses and Guns at odd hours. Their intention by all indication was to kill him and his family. Where a man who was passing by at the side of his resident interrogated them and shout thief’s! The assailant brutally attacked him, he sustained a deep cut on his head while the other assailants were trying to enter his living room through the roof from the veranda but with the immediate response from his neighbor’s, they took to their heels with a remark that they will not stop attacking until Mohamed Amzar Conteh is dead. Due to the insecurity base on the increase of treat he decided to quickly move his family to Guinea for safe keeping to a family friend who resides there, at the moment his life and family members are still under treat as friends and neighbor’s still report that they can still here footsteps around his resident at night. Reports were made to the police and few securities were deployed for few days to the resident which met strong resistance during a curfew as his community was quiet and subdue.
