At the meeting, hundreds of people benefited from the gesture, as they received bags of rice and assorted food items.
The representative of the Buddist compassion relief, Tzu foundation, Steven Tamba Fomba, said even though the different religious faiths in the country worship God or Allah differentl ways, one key thing that was common among the different religious organizations was love and compassion.
The representatives of different faiths believed in the culture of love and compassion, and recognised God’s inspirations and desires towards promoting inter faith dialogue.
Many representatives of the various faith organizations supported the success of the interfaith exercise, such as the Buddist Compassion Relief, Caritas Freetown, and the Healey International Relief Foundation.
The country manager of Healey International Foundation, Ishmael Charles commented that helping the needy was one of their primary objectives most religious denomination, and that the interfaith would continue to assist the under privileged at all times.
With the distribution of large quantity of rice to over 600 less privileged and the beneficiaries also thanked the religious leaders for their concerns and appealed to them for more support in the future.
