Former Presentational Aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC) Party in the 2018 Presidential Election, Retired Major Alfred Paolo Conteh has called on his party comrades to put an end to internal conflicts, harmful words and divisive actions.

He encouraged the members to support each other and remember that power is derived from the people, adding that their strength fuels their purpose.

Retired Major Alfred Paolo Conteh said: “This is so because sovereignty belongs to the people. Our beloved party stands at a crucial crossroads, one that could determine not only the future of the APC but also the future of our nation. If we do not take heed, we risk jeopardising everything our forefathers sacrificed to build.

“We, as leaders, must acknowledge that the current challenges are a reflection of our own actions and choices, not the grassroots. They have remained loyal, but it is up to us to guide them with wisdom, humility, and respect. Now is not the time for divisions over internal positions or personal ambitions. Instead, it is a moment for unity, a time to build an unstoppable political force that will lead us back into governance and restore the people’s confidence.

“We can not achieve this goal with a divided house. We must stand united, all of us, from the leadership to the grassroots, embracing one vision and one mission; a victorious APC that serves Sierra Leone. To achieve this, we must encourage all members, from the highest ranking officials to the most devoted supporters, to foster a spirit of respect and solidarity.

“We must look beyond personal grievances and acknowledge our collective strengths. A united APC is a stronger APC, one that can weather any storm and overcome any challenge. We can not allow divisions to overshadow our shared purpose. We must work together to foster inclusivity, fairness, and open dialogue within our ranks. Let us sit at the table and address our issues through discussion, not discord, for the best way forward is through collaboration, not conflict.

“Let us acknowledge our past mistakes, accept responsibility, and seek healing within our ranks. Through unity, we can drive the APC forward toward a brighter future and secure victory in the 2028 elections. We are blessed with capable minds and dedicated hearts; together, we can harness these strengths to create a party that represents every member and every supporter”.

He concluded by calling on the members to come together for the greater good of the party and the country.
