President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and wife First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio have departed Sierra Leone for London, United Kingdom to respond to a gracious invitation from His Majesty King Charles III.
According to State House Director of Communications, Michael Berewa, this visit offers a crucial opportunity to strengthen the diplomatic bond between Sierra Leone and the United Kingdom, fostering productive discussions and collaborations that will benefit both nations.
First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio said: “This afternoon, I had the honor of accompanying His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio as we departed Sierra Leone to accept a gracious invitation from His Majesty King Charles III. This visit is a significant opportunity to strengthen the diplomatic relationship between Sierra Leone and the United Kingdom. I am pleased to be part of this important engagement and anticipate productive discussions and collaborations that will benefit both our nations”.
This trip marks the President’s second official foreign trip in 2025. Last week, President Bio attended the inauguration of Ghana’s newly elected President, John Dramani Mahama, in Accra, alongside fellow Heads of State and dignitaries.
