National Secretary General of the main opposition, All People’s Congress (APC) Party, Lansana Dumbuya, has said there is no political party in Sierra Leone that is sweeter than the APC, while urging members to focus on mending divisions and working collectively toward a common goal.

He was speaking at the Party’s North-Western Region Retreat in Port Loko town, delivered a heartfelt and inspiring address, calling for unwavering unity among party members.

Reflecting on the theme of the retreat, he highlighted that unity is the cornerstone of the APC’s strength and future success. His tribute to the late pioneers of the party, including Siaka Stevens, S.I. Koroma, and others who sacrificed for APC’s legacy, was a powerful reminder of the party’s enduring values.

These reflections served as a rallying cry for members to honor the past by forging a united and peaceful future.

Dumbuya’s address also celebrated the leadership of Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, whose efforts restored APC’s prominence after challenging times. He commended Koroma’s developmental achievements, emphasising that every Sierra Leonean owes him gratitude for advancing the nation.

Turning to the present, Dumbuya confidently assured attendees that the implementation of the tripartite committee’s recommendations—particularly the pursuit of electoral justice—would secure a decisive APC victory in the next elections.

However, he cautioned flag bearer aspirants and their supporters to prioritize the party’s unity over individual ambitions. His message was clear: APC’s collective interest must outweigh personal pursuits, as peace and solidarity are vital for reclaiming governance in Sierra Leone.

The Secretary General’s concluding call for unity, ended with a melodious song punctuated with the symbolic spelling of “U-N-I-T-Y,” underscored his passion for a harmonious and forward-looking APC. His emphasis on electoral justice, national census, and the importance of peaceful internal competition painted a hopeful picture for the party’s future.

With his experience and as key executive member, the APC is reminded of its rich legacy and inspired to march together as one, ready to tackle challenges and return to State House in 2028. This speech not only showcased Dumbuya’s dedication but also reflected a party increasingly unified and determined to deliver progress to Sierra Leone.
