Former Presidential Candidate of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, has accused the President Julius Maada Bio led government of wanting to silence him following the issuance of a Bench Warrant against him by the Court of Appeal in Sierra Leone.

The Bench Warrant, issued on Thursday 20th February, 2025, came after both Mansaray and his surety failed to appear in court during an appeal hearing.

The case stems from his earlier conviction, which he had sought to challenge through legal proceedings. However, his absence from the hearing prompted the court to take action.

In response, Mansaray released a statement accusing President Julius Maada Bio and his associates of attempting to silence him. He claimed that his continued exposure of an alleged cocaine syndicate in Sierra Leone has put him in direct conflict with powerful figures within the government.

“Julius Maada Bio and his cohorts want to silence me again. As the whistleblower to the cocaine syndicate in Sierra Leone, I will continue to expose Julius Maada Bio, his family, and some of his top government officials’ connections and protection to Leijdekkers Jos, a cocaine drug lord in Sierra Leone,” Mansaray stated.

He further alleged that his life is at risk due to his stance against what he described as a growing drug trade in the country. “They’re coming after me so they can continue with their cocaine trade and use Sierra Leone as a cocaine hub. I just happen to be standing in their way,” he added, vowing to continue advocating for justice and accountability.

The case has drawn significant attention, with some viewing the legal actions against Mansaray as legitimate judicial procedures, while others see them as politically motivated following his recent whistleblowing on the drug scandal involving the government of Sierra Leone.
