Air Sierra Leone expands operations directly to UK

The Ministry of Transport and Aviation is pleased to announce the expansion of the Air Sierra Leone network with the grand Launch of direct flight operations between Sierra Leone and the United Kingdom, scheduled for April 26-27, 2025.

According to the Air Sierra Leone, this new route will be serviced by a modern addition to its growing fleet -the Boeing 737-8 Max, a 189- seater aircraft. 

The flight will operate three times a week, departing Gatwick International AirPort on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:00pm, with an estimated arrival at Freetown International AirPort at 5:00am the following morning. 

Return flight will depart Freetown International AirPort on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 9:00 AM, and are expected to arrive at Gatwick International AirPort by 3:00pm. 

There will be a joint press conference to be held at the Freetown International AirPort on April 26, 2025, at 1:30 PM hosted by the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA) and Air Sierra Leone in celebration of this accomplishment in the resumption of the Sierra Leone’s Aviation industry.

The Launch of the Freetown-London maiden flight on April 26-27, 2025, will mark the opening of ticket sales ahead of the commencement of full commercial operations on this route starting June 16, 2025. 

The public is hereby informed that bookings and ticket purchases can be made via Air Sierra Leone website at www.flysierraleone.com, or by visiting its Head Office at 21/23 Siaka Stevens Street, Freetown, or through one of it authorized Sales Representatives. 

The operation of Air Sierra Leone to the UK marks a significant milestone for the country as it strives to strengthen its aviation sector, improve tourism and cultural exchanges and enhance regional and international connectivity.
