On 26th August, 2025, the Leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC) from the Sierra Leone House of Parliament paid a visit to mourn with Ambassador Omrie Golley at his residence, Villa #2 of Dream Atlantic Garden Villa off Lumley Beach Road, Lumley.
The delegation comprised a high-ranking team of opposition figures including: Honourable Abdul Kargbo – Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Honourable Daniel Koroma – Deputy Minority Leader 1, Honourable Aaron Aruna Koroma – Deputy Leader 2 of Opposition, Honourable Abdul Karim Kamara – Opposition Whip of Parliament and, Honourable Alpha Ben Mansaray – Member of Parliament (MP) representing Moyamba and the only APC MP from the Southern Region.
The purpose of their visit was to extend their sincere and heartfelt condolences to Ambassador Omrie Golley. According to the leader, Hon Abdul Kargbo, Ambassador Omrie Golley has always been supporting Parliament and is a partner with them, and has always been with them during difficult moments.
Hon Abdul Kargbo commended the love Ambassador Omrie Golley has shown for the APC Party adding that, Golley always showed up for them. He said they came to pay homage to Ambassador Omrie Golley and sympathise and commiserate with him.
Hon. Kargbo on behalf of the APC Parliamentary representatives, further expressed the sincere condolence of all the MPs, stating that they mourn with the Golley Family in the moment of grief and pains.
In response, the representative of the family, Madam Mimi Betts, cousin to Ambassador Omrie Golley, said she is very grateful for the show of love and thanked the leadership for coming. She said nothings warms Ambassador Golley’s heart moves more with the outpouring love of condolences received from all through various sectors of society, she said. She thanks the MPs for their show of solidarity and love.
