26 year-old Ansu Bockarie alias Bobson 5-0, has been remanded at the remanded at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre in Kenema.
Saint Mary’s Parish Mission House, Vaama section, Pendembu town, Upper Bambara chiefdom, Kailahun district, being armed with a shovel, attempted to rob Reverend Father James Joshua Jamiru.
The accused on the same date and place, broke and entered into the dwelling house of Rev. Father James Joshua Jamiru with intent to commit a Felony.
He caused Grievous Bodily Harms to Rev. Father Jamiru with intent. Ansu Bockarie on the aforementioned date and Venue, wounded Reverend Father Jamiru with intent Contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861.
Police report and endorsed medical report of the victim was tendered in court, nine witnesses statements were tendered, one old shovel, one old machete, charged statement of the defendant was also tendered in court.
The Prosecution rely on Section 112(b) paragraph two of the Criminal Procedure Act (CPA) 1964. No bail was granted and the accused was remanded, as the matter adjourned to February 10, 2026 for hearing.
He was docked at Magistrate Court No.1 Presided over by His Worship, Magistrate Hadiru Daboh in Kenema where he was arraigned on five counts charges ranging from Attempted Robbery with Aggravation Contrary to Law, House Breaking Contrary to Section 27 Sub-section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916, Causing Grievous Bodily Harms with Intent Contrary to Section 18 of the Offences against the Persons Act 1861, Wounding with Intent Contrary to Section 18 of the Offences against the Persons Act 1861, to Wounding Contrary to Section 20 of the Offences against the Persons Act 1861.
