Renowned culinary figure Fanta Fofanah, popularly known as Chef Fanta, has been appointed Acting President of the Professional Chefs Association of Sierra Leone.
Her appointment follows years of dedicated service in promoting the association and elevating Sierra Leonean cuisine on the international stage. Industry stakeholders say her leadership reflects both her commitment to the culinary profession and her role in advancing the country’s food culture globally.
Speaking after her appointment, Chef Fanta expressed optimism about the future of the association, assuring members that under her leadership, the body will strive to secure more international recognition and accolades.
The Professional Chefs Association of Sierra Leone, established in November 2020, was created to unite culinary professionals across the country. The organisation focuses on promoting Sierra Leonean cuisine while providing training, mentorship, and networking opportunities for chefs and industry players.
In recent years, the association has gained regional prominence, including recognition at the West African Food Festival, where it secured awards for best country cuisine.
