The Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion has extended a formal invitation to the leadership of the All People’s Congress for a high-level consultative meeting with International Moral Guarantors, as part of ongoing efforts to assess the implementation of the Agreement for National Unity and the Tripartite Committee recommendations.
According to an official communication dated 7th April 2026 and signed by ICPNC Executive Secretary Hawa Samai, the visiting delegation will be in Sierra Leone from 13th to 17th April 2026 on a follow-up mission focused on reviewing progress and strengthening compliance with agreed national reform commitments.
The Mission will be jointly led by Fatoumata Jallow-Tambajang, in collaboration with representatives of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel, alongside technical experts supporting the review process.
As part of the itinerary, the delegation is expected to hold consultations with key national stakeholders, including a scheduled meeting with APC leadership on Tuesday 14th April 2026 at the party’s headquarters from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
Discussions will focus on national peace, cohesion, and the status of implementation of both the Unity Agreement and Tripartite Committee recommendations, with emphasis on establishing clear monitoring mechanisms and a roadmap for sustained progress.
The ICPNC expressed optimism that the engagement will contribute to strengthening trust among political actors and advancing Sierra Leone’s post-dialogue reconciliation and reform process.
The development highlights continued regional and international attention on Sierra Leone’s peace architecture and efforts to consolidate democratic stability through structured dialogue and implementation monitoring.
