East End Lions Football Club has strongly condemned the violent and unsporting conduct displayed by Star Sports Academy during their Orange FA Cup 2026 Quarter-Finalclash at the SLFA Academy Field on Sunday, 3rd May 2026.
The match, which was competitive but fair, was abandoned in the 86th minute with East End Lions leading 2–1, following a breakdown in discipline marked by violence, intimidation, and attacks on supporters.
The club reports that individuals allegedly linked to Star Sports Academy, including officials and hired groups, engaged in acts that endangered players, fans, and match officials. Evidence, including videos and photographs, reportedly shows supporters being attacked with stones and sticks, creating a dangerous and unacceptable environment.
Despite the provocation, East End Lions commended its leadership for acting swiftly to calm tensions and prevent further escalation.
The club has welcomed the response of the Sierra Leone Football Association, which has launched an investigation, and is calling for a swift, transparent, and impartial inquiry, full accountability for those responsible, strong disciplinary action in line with football regulations, and concrete measures to prevent future incidents.
East End Lions FC reaffirmed its solidarity with affected supporters and stressed that such acts threaten not just the club, but the integrity and future of football in Sierra Leone.
The club also pledged full cooperation with authorities and assured fans that it remains committed to discipline, professionalism, and the true spirit of the game.
