BALE Logistics Incorporated has taken a significant step as part of its corporate social responsibility around the Sierra Rutile Mines (Imperi Chiefdom, Lower and Upper Banta Chifdoms) to advance its commitment to developing a technically proficient female workforce, transitioning from foundational training to specialisedoperational tracks within the extractive industry.
The company recently concluded the first theoretical phase of its Excavator Operations curriculum for 500 women, culminating in a comprehensive competency assessment. Following this milestone, other trainees have now progressed into specialised modules focused on Heavy Vehicle (HV) and Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) operations.
According to BALE Logistics Inc, the programme is designed with a strong emphasis on technical precision and fleet safety, ensuring that participants acquire industry-standard skills required for modern mining operations. Plans are also underway to introduce additional theoretical training in Grader and Loader operations as the programme expands.
The initiative aims to equip women with diverse competencies across multiple machinery classes, positioning them as highly skilled professionals capable of contributing to operational excellence in Sierra Leone’s mining sector.
BALE Logistics Incorporated emphasised that the programme goes beyond promoting inclusivity, seeking instead to build a multi-skilled and high-performing workforce supported by OEM-standard knowledge and training.
